Method of Application
Floor Tiling
1 SURFACE PREPARATION
- The surface should be sound, clean, and free from dirt, oil or grease before Dr. Fixit Modern Tile Adhesive is applied.
- Expansion joints coinciding with joints in the substrate should be incorporated at the design stage with spacing at 5 meters maximum & it is not to be covered with tiles.
- Movement joints up to 5 mm width & wider joints to be filled with suitable joint fillers.
- The surface must be plumb before application of adhesives.
- The surface must be scabbled to expose at least 75% of the clean surface.
- The surface must be in SSD condition before application of adhesive.
2 MIXING
- Take 7.5–9 litres of water in aclean & dry vessel, gradually start addition of 30 kg, Dr. Fixit Modern Tile Adhesive powder under continuous stirring to a uniform lump free consistency, soft & smooth paste using a forced action mixer attached with paddle stirrer for 3 - 5 minutes.
- Allow it to fatten for 5 minutes.
- Mix as much quantity, which can be used within 60 minutes.
3 TILING
- Spread the adhesive to a thickness of approximately 3-6 mm and comb with a notched trowel. Strictly apply the adhesive paste which can be tiled within 10 to 15 mins.
- Intermittently touch the adhesive paste on substrate by finger. If the adhesive sticks to fingers then continue tiling and if not scrape off the adhesive and apply adhesive again.
- Start placing the tiles on the surface to be tiled. Tap the tiles properly to ensure complete coverage of the backside of tiles and to eliminate the possibility of any air voids.
- Keep joints between two-tiles using spacers.
- Start filling joints only after 24 hrs. with Dr. Fixit Fevimate TG.
Wall Cladding
1 SURFACE PREPARATION
- The surface to be tiled should be sound and thoroughly cleaned.
- Should be free from wax, grease, polish etc.
2 MIXING
- Add 3 parts of powder to 1 part of water.
- Mix with a trowel / slow speed drills (50 - 100 rpm) until a lump free homogeneous paste is obtained.
- Always mix the required quantity, which can be consumed with in 60 min. pot life.
3 TILING- Spread the adhesive to a thickness of approximately 3-6 mm and comb with a notched trowel. Strictly apply the adhesive paste which can be tiled within 10 to 15 mins.
- Intermittently touch the adhesive paste on substrate by finger. If the adhesive sticks to fingers then continue tiling and if not scrape off the adhesive and apply adhesive again.
- Start placing the tiles on the surface to be tiled. Tap the tiles properly to ensure complete coverage of the backside of tiles and to eliminate the possibility of any air voids.

Precautions & Limitations
- For laying tiles on floor, Surface should be sufficiently hard & good condition.
- Always add powder to water & never add water to powder.
- Do not add excess water than recommended.
- Never add sand & cement at site.
- Strictly not recommended for tiling on gypsum plaster, paint, wood & metal.
- Do not use for vertical cladding of heavy stone & tiles.
- Not recommended for tile-on -tile application.
